HOME Bargains has launched a new sale that could save students and parents a fortune – with kitchen and classroom essentials starting from just 99p.
The discount retailer, which has hundreds of branches across the UK, is tempting shoppers with cut-price deals just as thousands of young people prepare to start university.

Posting on Facebook, the chain told shoppers: “Start the term right: grab your uni essentials in store now!”
Students moving into halls or shared houses will be able to grab the basics for less than the cost of a coffee.
Pasta bowls, dinner plates and side plates are all reduced to just 99p each, making it easy to stock up a cupboard without breaking the bank.
For those looking to fill the kitchen drawers, a four-piece cutlery set is on sale for £3.99.
A seven-piece utensil set is £7.99, while a two-pack of tea towels costs just £2.99.
Bathrooms can be spruced up too, with a soap dish and tumbler tray set priced at £3.99.
Bigger household buys are also included.
A kettle is £12.99, while a matching toaster is £14.99.
And for small student rooms, a folding chair is up for grabs at just £9.99.
It means students heading off for the first time can kit out their digs without splashing out hundreds.
The bargains don’t stop in the homeware aisle.
Home Bargains has also launched a massive stationery sale ahead of schools reopening next week.
Parents are already flocking to stores to stock up before the school run chaos begins.
A 12-piece Sharpie set, usually £20.80, has been slashed to just £5.99 – that’s a massive 71 per cent saving.
Shoppers can also pick up single Sharpies for 99p each, a discount of more than half.
Meanwhile, the Ultimate School Set by Helix is down to £3.99 from £8.99.
