TOTTENHAM made a subtle dig at Arsenal after announcing the £52million signing of Xavi Simons.
The North Londoners finally recruited a star level No10 on Friday following a summer of near misses.
Spurs thought they had sealed deals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze earlier in the summer, only for both swoops to fall through.
Thomas Frank‘s side lost out on £68m Eze to Arsenal, with the attacking midfielder snubbing a move in order to sign for his boyhood club.
As the former Crystal Palace man was introduced on the pitch at the Emirates ahead of their clash with Leeds, Let It All Work Out by Lil Wayne played over the speakers.
The Gunners also posted a picture of Eze tapping their badge with the caption “Let it all work out”.
Following the disappointment of missing out on Eze, Tottenham dusted themselves down to complete arguably an even more exciting signing.
Simons, 22, arrives from RB Leipzig widely recognised as one of the brightest talents in the game.
Chelsea pursued the Dutchman for much of the summer, only to be beaten to his signature by Spurs.
Posting a picture of Simons in their new away shirt, Tottenham’s X account cheekily wrote: “Let it all work out.”

And another added: “HAHAHAH.”
Simons will wear the No7 shirt recently vacated by Tottenham legend Son Heung-min.
Upon signing on the dotted line, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain starlet told Spurs’ media team: “I’m really happy and can’t wait to get going. I’ve been dreaming of this for a long time.
“It’s a great club and when I met the head coach I knew straight away that this was the right place for me.
“I will bring flair to the team but also hard work and discipline. I want to do everything I can to win, for the team and also for the fans.”
Simons will not be available for Tottenham’s clash with Bournemouth this afternoon, but could make his debut in the London derby match up with West Ham after the international break.
