IT’S one of the hardest decisions you’ll ever have to make – what name to give your child.
But one kids’ therapist has shared some words of warning to bear in mind when considering monikers for your little ones.
Chloe Conrad is an accredited speech therapist, and explained that her job has made it clear there are three names in particular that should never been given to kids.
“Three names I would never name my child as a speech therapist,” she said in a video on her TikTok page.
She then listed the names – Rory, Rowan and Aurora.
“They’re so hard to say!” she sighed.

Chloe then expanded in the caption that it’s “basically any name with R and O in it next to each other”.
“I LOVE the way the sound but struggle teaching a child to say them!” she added.
“That being said… I have a Rory in my life that I love, thankfully she has been blessed with an emerging R and won’t need my support with that.”
The comments section was immediately filled with people either agreeing or disagreeing with Chloe’s suggestions.
“Rory is SO hard!!!! Just like Rural lol,” one said.
“I can’t even say Rory without focusing on my pronunciation lol!” another admitted.
“Yeah my name is Riley and for the first 9 years of my life it was Wiley!” a third commented.
“Thank goodness for my speech therapist who worked with me all through elementary school!!”
“I’m adult who’s never had speech issues and I still hate saying Aurora,” someone else said.
“Also I named my son Emilio and I kinda regret it because he’s almost 3 and still doesn’t say his name that well (but not too far off)!”
“I had a student named Aurora!” another wrote.
“As an adult it took so long for the name to just flow out.”

“Names that are traditionally heard as nicknames, such as Freddie or Theo, are making a comeback, signalling a move away from formality.
“Additionally, we will see a rise of nature-inspired names, such as River, Lily, and Ivy. And a trend in recent years that we also expect to continue, is the rise of classical names, for example, Margot, Dorothy, August.”
