AN IRISH traveller has shared the six rules her son must follow at all times.
Zoey Pon, a traveller girl who left school at the age of 13, explained that her newborn baby Tom will never be allowed sleepovers and smoking is definitely out of the question.
Posting online, the young woman, who had to follow her own strict rules growing up which meant she wasn’t allowed a phone and was forbidden to drink alcohol, also claimed that her son will not be permitted to clean.
In two clips shared on social media, the new mother who gave birth less than two weeks ago, got candid on how she plans to raise her child, leaving many totally stunned.
First things first, the curly-haired beauty said: “In the traveller community, boys do not clean – so he will not be cleaning.”
Secondly, the content creator added: “He’ll be going to playschool and primary school – secondary school, I don’t think so.”

Zoey then stressed that in the traveller community, many children don’t go to school.
But while she is willing to let her son get an education, she doesn’t mind if he “drops out.”
As well as this, Zoey explained that her son must get a job from a “very, very young age.”
She acknowledged that in the traveller community, boys get married and have children at a very young age, so she wants her son to “know how to provide” for his wife and kids.
But Zoey’s son Tom won’t be allowed just any old job, as she continued: “When baby Tom does start working, that won’t be in a shop or anything like that – it’s rare for a [traveller] child to go and work in a shop – he’ll be working outside, like car washing and s**t like that.”
Not only does Tom have to follow rules on what type of job he can get, but sleepovers will also be off the cards for him too.
She explained: “I know he’s a boy and all, but I am gonna be strict over him – there’s gonna be no sleepovers at all, doesn’t matter whose house it is, unless it’s his grandmother’s house, other than that, he ain’t going nowhere else.”
Finally, she revealed the sixth rule Tom must follow, as she expressed: “He will not be smoking, under no circumstances he will not be smoking. I don’t smoke, his dad doesn’t smoke, so there will be no smoking.
Facts on gypsy and traveller communities
Typically, gypsies is a term used to describe Romani people who migrated to Europe from India while traveller refers to a person with either Irish, Scottish or English heritage.
Around 300,000 Gypsy, Roma and Irish travellers are thought to live in the UK.
All three groups come from nomadic ways of life, however, as it is increasingly difficult to find land to live on, many are moving into permanent housing.
They place high value on family life and often live close together even after reaching adult years and getting married.
Often the men are the breadwinners of the family while the women stay home.
While many English gypsy girls are allowed to drink alcohol and go on holiday with their friends before they get married, their Irish counterparts are not.
Zoey’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @doll20212021, has clearly left many open-mouthed as it has quickly racked up 177,200 views in just 20 hours.
Social media users were stunned by Zoey’s strict rules and many took to the comments to express this.
