Meghan Markle in bizarre pop at royals in new Netflix series as she complains about having to wear nude tights

THE Duchess of Sussex has had another bizarre pop at her in-laws — claiming she was forced to wear nude-coloured tights while a working royal.

The former actress, 44, moaned that she felt “inauthentic” on duty but was now happier being herself as she promoted the return of her much-mocked cookery show, With Love, Meghan.

In the cringe-filled eight-parter, she is seen shoving her hand up a chicken and eating sea urchins’ privates while claiming hubby Prince Harry’s diet is boring.

Soon after it was released, she was asked in a promotional interview if she found any “tension” between appearing “relatable” while also being a duchess.

Meghan, who decamped to California for a new life with Prince Harry in 2020, replied: “No. I’m just being myself.”

She then could not resist reopening old wounds with her in-laws, including Kate, Princess of Wales.

Meghan said: “It was different several years ago where I couldn’t be as vocal and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time.

“It is an example of when you’re able to dress the way you want to dress, and you’re able to say the things that are true, and you’re able to show up in a space really organically and authentically, that’s being comfortable in your own skin.”

The mother of two then added to Bloomberg’s Emily Chang: “Right now I don’t feel I need to prove anything.”

Series two of With Love, Meghan was released by Netflix at 8am, following poor ratings for the first earlier this year, when it came 383nd in the streaming giant’s global rankings.

It sees Meghan back in the kitchen, and at one point she inserts a hand up a chicken as she preps a meal.

She says to the camera: “What a glamorous and ladylike shot — it’s what has to be done.”

Meg moaned heritage was stifled with ‘racist’ Royals – but where’s Nigerian food on Netflix show?

She is also shown gobbling sea urchin gonads, said to be a delicacy.

Meanwhile, Meghan reveals that Harry has a dull diet and does not like lobster, to which guest chef José Andrés replied: “No way. And you married him?”

Meghan also tells how she makes hot breakfast for her kids Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, every morning, and called it a “sacred time”.

She said: “Fried eggs and pancakes, but I like to do surprise pancakes for the kids, so I always put some ground flaxseeds, pour some chia seeds in.

“Lili will ask me, ‘Can I have chia seeds? I want it to have freckles’.

“The ritual of breakfast is a sacred time as a family.

“You just take a minute of calm before the day.”

Harry, 40, does not appear in the programme, featuring in only two photos, one of which shows him dancing with his new wife at their wedding reception in 2018.

‘EXERCISE IN NARCISSIM’

However Meghan reveals he was the first to say the “L” word when they were dating.

Fashion designer guest Tan France asked her: “Was there a moment when you realised you loved this guy?”

She said it was on their third date when they camped in Botswana.

Asked who uttered the words “I love you” first, she replied: “He told me.”

Critics savaged the first series, with one saying it would be preferable to “fry your eyeballs”.

Another called it “an exercise in narcissism”.

Yesterday Meghan hit back in the Bloomberg chat, saying: “If you know the audience and know your demographic, well they loved the show, my partners loved the show, and that’s why we have season two, and why we have more fun coming.

“I think often times the negative voices, are they saying negative things and then secretly going home and making single skillet spaghetti?

“Possibly, and that’s all right.

“They are trying to pay their bills and that’s for them to sort out if they are comfortable doing it at someone else’s detriment.”

She was also challenged over a 2016 interview where she called Donald Trump “misogynistic”.

Asked whether she was desperate to say stuff but choosing to stay quiet, she said: “No.

“I just make a choice, of what matters to me and what’s important to me and that was a different time in 2016.”

On the series, Meghan admits she does not like baking — and reveals for the first time that she worked as a hostess at a restaurant on Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard.

She also spoke about spending time away from the children, saying: “The longest I went was almost three weeks. I was not well.”

It is believed she could be referring to the spell she spent in the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral as she had also been in Germany beforehand with Harry for the Invictus Games.

When quizzed about what she missed most about the UK, she claims she was a big fan of Magic FM.

Meghan went on: “Honestly one of the things I miss the most about the UK is radio stations.

Her nude tights complaint follows a tirade of barbs and insults to the Royal Family from her and Harry since they quit as working royals and left Britain.

Meghan claimed on their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021 that she was “silenced” during her 18 months as a working royal.

She also told Oprah that Kate made her cry during a row over what tights Princess Charlotte should wear at Meghan’s 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

In her six-part Netflix show Harry & Meghan in 2022, she also claimed she was made to wear neutral colours during her short period of time on official duty.

WITH LOVE, MEGHAN, SEASON 2 REVIEW

By Matt Wilkinson, Royal Editor

SEEING Meghan Markle with her hand inside a chicken and eating sea urchin gonads, you could be forgiven for thinking this was a Bushtucker Trial on I’m A Celeb.

But With Love, Meghan is a cookery and lifestyle show which the duchess is using to take herself far away from the royals and firmly into the public arena as a television celebrity and influencer.

And whisper it quietly, but series two is better than the first. Even if it’s a low bar.

Meghan comes across as more likeable, more fun and a little humble.

A move towards being inoffensive is a much-needed step for Meghan after previous disastrous TV appearances.

Netflix has clearly read the reviews.

But where was Harry? The Spare did not appear in person and was only spotted in two photos, yet Meghan made sure her hubby was still name-dropped.

Maybe Harry, who has his eyes on a royal reconciliation, watched series one and thought, “I’m not a celebrity.. so get me out of there”
