TRAVIS Kelce couldn’t hold back his happiness after proposing to Taylor Swift having kept the plans quiet for “months,” a source close to the NFL legend told The U.S. Sun.
Kelce and his pop-star partner dropped the news on Instagram with pictures of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on one knee with a sparkly diamond ring, which were instantly liked by millions of fans.
The U.S. Sun revealed last summer that Kelce had his eyes on a $250,000 diamond ring, designed with the help of top Paris designer Kindred Lubeck.
An insider close to the couple says keeping the plans private for an extended period had left the 35-year-old stressed.
But after telling the world, Kelce felt a “massive relief” and now heads into the new NFL season on cloud nine, with wedding plans starting.
“It was a very well-kept secret. Only their mothers, fathers, Jason, and Jason’s wife knew about it, as Travis wanted to keep it a ‘women’s circle’ secret for the most part,” the source told The U.S. Sun.

“They helped him with the design and the choice of flowers and the set, and no other friends, agents, or guys knew about it until after it happened.”
Our insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed the moment Travis told him.
“He called me and was so excited; he yelled when he told me he had asked for her hand, saying, ‘I did it! Woohoo!’” he added.
“You can tell this is another big step forward in his personal life. He is the happiest man on Earth right now.”
Travis, says the insider, had been planning this memorable moment for a year.
Although those close to him had expected a ring on Taylor’s finger this summer, no one knew for sure until the post dropped on social media.
One of Travis’s business partners hired two photographers who were also sworn to secrecy. Yet no one else knew what was coming.
“It was a very, very well-kept secret,” admitted the friend.
The announcement was accompanied by a collection of stunning snaps, including a shot of the couple embracing and a close-up of a large diamond ring on Swift’s left hand.
The U.S. Sun exclusively reported last year that Kelce was working tirelessly to find the perfect ring for the “Cruel Summer” singer and sourced the opinions of friends and experts.
TAKING THE NEXT STEP
“It probably took more than 40 shop visits and 100 Zoom calls and meetings with jewelry experts to find what he looked for,” the insider told us.
Swift’s ring in the end is reportedly an old mine brilliant-cut ring from Artifex Fine Jewelry.
That specific type of diamond were especially popular in the 18th and 19th centuries and each one is completely unique.
They are hand-cut meaning no two are alike.
The diamonds are also known for their cushion-like shape, rounded corners and chunky facets.
Lubeck’s rings for Artifex Fine generally range in price but they start from $4,300 dollars for a signet style with a North Star motif.
Swift, currently enjoying a year away from touring, captioned the post, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” a playful nod to her songwriting and his athletic career.
The post went viral in just 10 minutes.
Now that the stress of revealing the engagement is gone, the happy couple can zone in on wedding plans.
The U.S. Sun has already revealed their love of Italy, and in particular, the beautiful Lake Como, where possible love nests have already been looked at.
The insider says the area surrounding the picturesque lake in Northern Italy is the “dream location” for a wedding.
Kelce and Swift, admitted the source, want an intimate event with a “maximum of 100 people” either at the end of the NFL season early next year or in the summer of 2026.
“Travis is also most likely going to retire at the end of the season and wants to start a family by late 2026 or early 2027, after he is done with football,” concluded the insider.
“He is looking forward to building a life with Taylor and taking the next step.”
Travis Kelce ‘eyed ring’ before engagement
TAYLOR Swift’s lover was looking at rings months before his engagement with the superstar singer was announced, according to a source who previously spoke with The U.S. Sun.
Last year, the NFL legend jetsetted to elite shops around the world in a dedicated hunt to find his girlfriend the perfect band, the insider close to his entourage said.
“It probably took more than 40 shop visits and 100 Zoom calls and meetings with jewelry experts” to find what he looked for, the source told The U.S. Sun.
He traveled to New York City, Los Angeles, France, Italy, and England throughout his search before landing at Place Vendome in the heart of Paris, the source said in August.
Once he walked into that shop, Travis reportedly found a glittering $250,000 band that was bedazzled with the “finest diamonds,” the insider said.
“He finally found the ring he is sure she will love,” the source said at the time.
The NFL star relied heavily on Swift’s close friends and his own loved ones for advice before making his final pick.
After sealing the deal, Travis couldn’t wait to get down on one knee.
“He wants the best for his lady,” the source said.
“He is ready to get engaged to her, he can’t wait.”
