Abilene Christian University (ACU) has launched a new fully online Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP), expanding access to a high-demand healthcare profession for students seeking a flexible, Christ-centered path to certification. Designed for individuals passionate about helping others overcome communication challenges, this program prepares students to serve with excellence, empathy and purpose.
The online MS-SLP program builds on more than 20 years of ACU’s accreditation in speech-language pathology education and meets the academic and clinical requirements established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Students can choose between a two-year full-time or three-year part-time track, allowing for both career advancement and personal flexibility. The curriculum combines evidence-based coursework with hands-on clinical rotations, equipping students with the skills and compassion to make a life-changing impact in educational, healthcare and community settings.
“ACU is committed to preparing health professionals who lead with integrity, faith and a heart for service,” said Dr. Stephen Johnson, chief executive officer of ACU Dallas. “This new online master’s program reflects our mission to expand access to exceptional, values-driven education that transforms both individuals and communities.”
The online Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program is especially suited for graduates of ACU’s Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders or the Pre-Master’s Leveling Pathway in Speech-Language Pathology, offering a seamless transition into advanced professional preparation. With the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting a 19% job growth for speech-language pathologists through 2032, the demand for qualified, compassionate clinicians is greater than ever.
“The ability to restore someone’s ability to communicate is one of the most profound forms of healing,” said Dr. George Saltsman, provost and vice president of academic affairs. “Our online MS-SLP program is rooted in academic excellence and a deep sense of mission, preparing students to bring hope and skill into homes, hospitals, schools and communities.”
The online Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology is now accepting applications for its inaugural cohort beginning spring 2026. Students will be supported by a dedicated team of faculty, advisors and clinical placement coordinators, ensuring a rich and connected learning experience from anywhere in the country.
