THRILLSEEKERS are soon to get another experience to head to at Alton Towers Resort, but you’ll have to be quick as there are only a limited number of tickets.
Starting on October 2, Alton Towers Resort is launching a new Ghost Tour in its iconic haunted Towers, in time for its annual Scarefest event.

The ghost tour VIP experience will allow guests to enter the Grade II listed Towers at the theme park, following recent reports of ghostly sightings.
Across 90 minutes, visitors will be guided on a ghost hunt through the ruins of the Towers, fully kitted out with paranormal detection tech and gadgets.
Those on the tour will also hear creepy first-hand accounts from the guides and even the chance to participate in a seance.

The Towers were previously home to the Talbot family, the Earls of Shrewsbury between 1412 and 1924, who built the Gothic home before it became partially ruined and items from inside were auctioned off.
Bianca Sammut, vice president of Alton Towers Resort said: “The Towers have long been at the heart of Alton Towers Resort and now guests can uncover the chilling stories hidden within its walls.
“With real ghost-hunting gear, immersive storytelling and exclusive access, the VIP experience Ghost Tour is a must for paranormal fans and thrillseekers alike this Scarefest.”
For visitors wanting to experience even more scares, there is a behind the scenes VIP tour of the Compound scare maze where you’ll head on a walk through the attraction with the lights on.
Whilst on the tour, guides will reveal the storyline behind the attraction, the creative processes and tech used and even the smells of the different parts of the maze such as sterile hospitals and blood.
There will be the chance to see original concept art including design sketches and costumes too.
Included in a Compound VIP experience tour ticket is the live-action scare maze experience and a behind-the-scenes VIP badge.
Last week, the theme park also announced two new attractions – a scare maze named Edge of the Forest and a scare zone called Dark Hollow.
Tickets to the Alton Towers Ghost Tour VIP experience and the behind-the-scenes Compound tour cost from £55 per person.
Scarefest will take place from September 27 to November 2 and the “days and nights of spokes and frights” start from £34 per person.
Tickets include access to the rides such as The Smiler, Nemesis Reborn and Toxicator until 9pm and a number of scare attractions.
Other experiences include The Curse at Alton Manor experience, which is the resort’s most immersive dark ride and follows the story of Emily Alton, a Victorian child who has a scary secret.
Visitors will also be able to head to Trick O’Treat Town, where kids over the age of six can knock on doors down Spooky Avenue and Witchy Woods, for both tricks and treats.
And there is Amigos in the Afterlife as well, where visitors can celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a portal to the afterlife.
What’s Alton Towers’ new Toxicator ride like?
A SUN reporter was the first to ride Alton Towers’ newest ride Toxicator – here’s what he thought.
Thrillseekers are set for more extreme fun in a topsy-turvy spinning explosion when Alton Towers opens a new ride tomorrow.
“I was lucky enough to be the first journalist to test ride the attraction — and what a flip-roaring ride Toxicator is.
Strapped in and ready for takeoff, you are then whisked 80 feet into the air for a dizzying pure-adrenalin ride.
Riders sit back to back before having our world turned upside down as we’re flipped around in a series of intense spin patterns.
The stomach-fluttering, dizzying topspin ride, the only of its kind in the UK, puts your body through extreme centrifugal forces.
It’s an intense assault on the senses as you are whirled round and round before being dragged back and flung forwards again.
Dramatic green-lit water fountains on both sides of the ride shoot up around the attraction to represent toxic terror.
Back in June, Alton Towers closed a popular ride for good after more than a decade.
Plus, it recently launched new ‘Disney style’ dining plans in UK first with themed meals and snacks.
