Personalities from the world of showbiz and sport are put to the test as they attempt to pass the notoriously difficult SAS Selection test.

Names to have either withdrawn or have been eliminated include former S Club star Hannah Spearritt, Traitors personality Harry Clark, and Love Island contestants Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri.

But one star who hasn’t struggled so much on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is professional footballer Troy Deeney.

In fact, rather than succumb to pressure from a brutal interrogation, the striker even fell asleep!

He reflected on the moment, explaining: “I fell asleep! It’s definitely not something to be proud of, but how can I explain this?

“It’s kind of like the environment in which I grew up. I didn’t have any screaming baby noises, if I had, I would have been in trouble.

“But everything else I could cope with.”

Afterwards, he reflected further on his younger years as he explained that the trauma he suffered made the course somewhat easier.

“I said to the guys after, have you ever lived in a house and heard screaming crackheads outside your door?” he commented.

“I used to live in a flat like that and the sounds were a lot worse than what they just put me through.

“When you hear police busting through the door, you hear gunshots from outside, when you’ve been around those type of noises, actually, weirdly, the interrogation noises just helped me sleep.”

Now, the TalkSport personality admitted that the severe noises he used to hear had an huge impact on the rest of his life.

The former player-manager revealed that he has to hear noise in the background as he falls asleep, something his wife has now gotten used to.

“My wife, who’s the complete opposite end of the spectrum, by the way, very middle class, very understanding, she has to sleep with the room dark, no TV on,” he told us.
