IT began as a dream of a fresh start, a journey to embrace a new version of herself.
But it quickly became a nightmare for Rose – a young woman who travelled to Lithuania for a cosmetic treatment.
The Irish woman, who goes by ‘sinfullyravagedrose‘ on TikTok, landed on May 19 for a combination of cosmetic surgeries: a tummy tuck, 360 liposuction, and a breast lift.
The surgery was on May 21, and everything seemed on track for a successful transformation.
But as she shared in a heart-wrenching video, things went terribly wrong.
“I unfortunately got complications,” she explained. “Even though it’s rare, I ended up getting necrosis in my nipple.”

Necrosis is a serious condition where tissue dies due to a lack of blood supply.
In this case, her nipple, which was repositioned during the breast lift, didn’t receive the oxygen and blood it needed.
The situation quickly escalated.
She had to undergo an emergency skin graft just days after the initial surgery.
But her body’s struggle wasn’t over.
“Unfortunately, I ended up with a pretty serious infection,” she said.
This led to the loss of the skin graft and left her with a “pretty big open wound” that required daily treatment.
Weeks have passed since the surgery, and her planned short trip has turned into an indefinite stay in a foreign country, far from home and her family.
The emotional and mental toll of the ordeal is clear in her voice.
“I’m tired. I just want to go home. I want to see my family. I want to see my kids,” she said. “I feel like I’m missing out on so much life back in Ireland.”
Despite the devastating setback, she recently shared a glimmer of hope.
Infection
She believes the infection is mostly gone and has been fitted with a new device – a specialised bandage – to treat the wound.
The hope is that by the end of the week, the wound will be fresh enough to be stitched closed, allowing her to finally make the journey home.
“It’s been a very stressful time,” she admitted.
“I’m hoping and praying that maybe I’ll get home in time for Father’s Day so that I can be with my family.”
The surgeon is going to try and reconstruct but I understand everything you are going through
TikTok comment
She also made a point to praise the clinic and medical staff, emphasising how well they’ve taken care of her despite the circumstances.
“It’s really important that I just say how great the clinic has been, how great the doctor, the surgeon has been, and how great the staff here have been,” she said.
“They’ve taken really, really, really good care of me.”
Her video, which was on 9 June, has gained 265.6k views and 974 comments as many rush to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “I had exactly the same last year.”
To which Rose asked where that person had it done, and then they replied: “I had mine done in Turkey. Everything went the same as you.
“I lost my nipple and had a skin graft which was successful.
“I had the same device as you too. I’m going back in August. The surgeon is going to try and reconstruct but I understand everything you are going through.”
Someone else added: “I had exactly the same as you on both nipples. I’ve been absolutely devastated for three months and I had this device too.
“Today I can say I’m finally getting there and I didn’t lose my nipples so please stay positive. Keep it dry is my advice darling.”
What are the risks of getting surgery abroad?
IT’S important to do your research if you’re thinking about having cosmetic surgery abroad.
It can cost less than in the UK, but you need to weigh up potential savings against the potential risks.
Safety standards in different countries may not be as high.
No surgery is risk-free. Complications can happen after surgery in the UK or abroad.
If you have complications after an operation in the UK, the surgeon is responsible for providing follow-up treatment.
Overseas clinics may not provide follow-up treatment, or they may not provide it to the same standard as in the UK.
Also, they may not have a healthcare professional in the UK you can visit if you have any problems.
