AN assistant director for hit Netflix show Emily in Paris has died while filming in Venice.
Diego Borella, 47, reportedly collapsed while preparing to shoot the final scene of the upcoming fifth season.
Medics rushed to the scene at the historic Hotel Danieli at around 7pm on Thursday – but they were unable to save him, La Repubblica reports.
Borella was a well-regarded Venetian professional who had trained in Rome, London, and New York.
According to Italian media, he also worked as a writer, publishing fairy tales and children’s stories.
It’s understood filming for Emily in Paris has been halted following Borella’s death.
The fifth season of Emily in Paris – which premieres on Netflix on December 18 – features Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, working at Agence Grateau in Rome.
