As Adam struggled to get his words out, the Special Forces team clarify he is talking about the miscarriage.
He continued: ‘I think I was proud of the fact that I was excited for it, which I didn’t think I ever would be.
‘And when it got taken away, and it was 10 times worse for her, I think it hit us like a tonne of bricks.
‘We just really, really went to a bit of a bad place. And to be honest, in front of her I pretended I was cool, and pretended I was absolutely fine.’
Adam later shed tears again as the recruits were asked to write ‘death letters’ to their loved ones.
Reading out his heartfelt speech to Laura, he stated: ‘The last few months have been really tough, but nowhere near as tough as you.
‘We lost a baby recently.’
He then started to sob, as his upset co-stars tried to comfort him.
Adam added: ‘I wish I had one more night to give you the world’s biggest cuddle. Love you always, Adam.’

Taking to X after the show aired, people praised Adam for being so ‘raw and honest’.
Comments included: ‘New found respect for after #SASWhoDaresWins tonight. Such raw and honest emotion and so pleased things have worked out for him.’;
‘Love Island were happy to portray him in a negative way Women’s Aid were happy to slate him on watching 1 hour of a manipulated reality TV show But no one realises the person behind the criticism. That took real strength from Adam Collard can’t have been easy to speak about something like that man #SASWhoDaresWins’;
‘So difficult for men to feel able to talk about their feelings. Fair play to him for doing so.’
After the show aired, Adam took to his Instagram page to thank viewers for their kind messages of support about his candid admission on the TV show.
Adam referenced a post from last year where he discussed his struggles, but did not specify what was going on at the time.
The post read: ‘2024, the hardest year of my life. I’ve seen a lot of amazing 2024 posts over the last few days… but if you’re struggling right now, remember that Instagram is a highlights reel, and if you’re struggling you aren’t alone.’

Underneath, Adam wrote: ‘Thank you for all of the nice messages after tonight’s episode. For those that can remember this post, 2024 was hard and not just for me. But it has taught me a lot.
‘SAD was filmed just before our Leo just so people understand. I have connected with so many people since talking about things from this point going forward, in the gym, in person and online.
‘As men, we are often quite terrible at this. But not forgetting about women too. I have a few special people in my life who checked in on me during this time.
‘You know who you are, thank you. I’ve probably forgotten a lot but pick up messages tomorrow.’
Laura and Adam began dating in October 2023 and announced that they were expecting their first child in 2024 and their son Leo was born in January 2025.
Their relationship came a year after Adam famously returned to Love Island in 2022 in a bid to meet his dream woman.
He previously caused chaos on the show in 2018 when he coupled up with four different women – Kendall, Rosie, Zara, and Darylle.
While he ultimately went on to have a relationship with the now Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott, they split after seven months together.

In 2022, he once again found himself a girlfriend on the show, Paige Thorne, but their romance was short-lived and they quickly split after leaving the show.
Paige later accused Adam of cheating and he admitted that he used her to enjoy a longer stint on Love Island, stating he ‘completely chose the right person to stay on the show’.
Adam went on to date Kate Moss’s sister Lottie Moss after they were set up on Celebs Go Dating, but the romance ended after a month.
This was reportedly the result of Adam sleeping with another woman after he had been intimate with Lottie.
She said at the time: ‘I hope he finds happiness – deep down in that cold shell of a soul.’
Adam’s relationship with Laura has been much more successful from the get-go, with the former reality star describing the presenter as ‘the one’.
Explaining his reasons for joining the SAS cast, he said: ‘On a personal level, I wanted to test myself mentally.
‘I had a lot of stuff going on before I went on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and I’ve got to be honest but credit to the show, I actually think it had the most positive impact on my mental health.’
