Mark Chapman to host first Match of the Day since Gary Lineker exit as new line-up for BBC show confirmed

MARK CHAPMAN is set to kick off the new Match of the Day era this weekend, it’s been claimed.

The veteran broadcaster was named as one of three replacements for the recently departed Gary Lineker.

Lineker’s iconic 26-year stint presenting the show came to an end following the culmination of the 2024/25 season.

Chapman has been joined by fellow long-time broadcasters and presenters Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan.

And according to The Telegraph, the long-time BBC employee will be in the hotseat for the first edition of MOTD on Saturday night.

Chapman will be joined in the studio by former England internationals Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer.
