UFC fans beg Conor McGregor to ‘stay retired’ after ‘sad’ training footage emerges

UFC fans across the world have urged Conor McGregor to call it a day after watching his latest training footage.

The promotion’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his left leg over FOUR YEARS ago.

McGregor, 37, took a giant step towards returning to the cage last month by re-entering and submitting a sample to the UFC‘s drug testing pool.

The Irishman has seemingly been ramping up his training over the last few weeks, which he’s been sharing with his millions of followers on social media.

But many have been left unimpressed by what they’ve seen and have called for the future Hall of Famer to call it quits.

Commenting on a video of McGregor looking laboured and somewhat stiff as he hit pads, one fan said: “Bro looks so bad now, just stay retired.”

Another said: “Bro looks so bad now, just stay retired. So bad and slow and just weird.

“Stay retired ’cause you’re gonna get knocked out in round 1. Face it, man, it’s over.”

And another said: “Time waits for no one.”

One remarked: “He would get knocked out by any ranked fighter right now.”

Another chimed in: “You look like 45-year-old Donald Cerrone on those pads.”

McGregor was set to make his grand cage comeback last June against rival Ultimate Fighter season 31 coach Michael Chandler.

But he was forced to pull out of their Sin City showdown after breaking his left pinky toe in one of his final sparring sessions.

The Notorious is keen to fight on the UFC’s proposed White House show next July, although Dana White has refused to guarantee him a spot on the card.

During an appearance on the Full Send Podcast, he said: “McGregor has gotten himself to a point where he is and will be, whether he stops fighting or not, one of the biggest superstars in sports, period.

“He’s gotten to a level of success in his life that he has to, I think, be motivated by something.

Bro looks so bad now, just stay retired.”

A UFC fan’s reaction to Conor McGregor’s latest training footage

“He’s accomplished everything, and especially financially.

“Now he’s got to find something that truly motivates him to want to come back and do this again. I don’t know if the White House is it, but we’ll see.”

If McGregor fights again, his next outing will be his first since he was found civilly liable for having assaulted Nikita Hand at a Dublin hotel in December 2018.

McGregor appealed the verdict turned in at Dublin‘s High Court but lost his bid to overturn the civil verdict late last month.
