This is the shocking moment a McDonald’s customer jumped over the counter and started brawling with staff.

The fight appears to have taken place in a branch of the fast food restaurant chain in the Acton area of west London.

The astonishing video, posted to social media platform X yesterday afternoon, sees a raging customer appear to throw something violently over the counter.

The clip, seemingly filmed by a delivery driver waiting to pick up an order, then shows the man jump on top of the counter and over it into the kitchen area.

He lunges for a particular member of staff, appearing to try to throw a punch at him, as two others grapple with him to hold him back.

The workers firmly raise their voices to reason with him as started onlookers scatter backwards while watching warily on.

The customer then goes in for another punch, visibly frightening the staff member, whose colleague covers him with his arms to hold back the attacker.

Still holding on to each other, the two men slowly retreat into the kitchen but the enraged customer is relentless and pursues them.

Clearly keen to discourage further violence, the two workers do not strike out as the threatening man strides ominously towards them.

But soon, things escalate even further, with the customer tackling the worker he originally threatened to the ground.

The other staff member tries to pull them apart but with the burly customer’s back to him, he struggles to properly intervene.

Another worker rushes to help, with the two of them eventually managing to pull the man off their colleague.

Desperate to bring the tussle to an end, they are forced to grab the customer’s shirt to drag him away – which seems to have almost come off him amid his exertions.

A crowd of delivery drivers watches on, seemingly lost for words by the suddenness of the fight breaking out, as others in the restaurant shout in shock.

A female staff member’s voice calls out for their help, urging: ‘Can you help us please? Drivers, please! Drivers, can you help us?’

The Metropolitan Police and McDonald’s have been approached for comment.

It comes as fears about growing crime levels in London escalate, with the British capital recently dubbed the 15th most dangerous city for crime in Europe.

London, which is also the 100th worst out of 385 locations around the world, is less safe than rival European cities from Athens to Brussels and Milan to Barcelona.

It is also worse than major US cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Dallas as well as other global destinations from Cancun to Cairo and Bali to Bangalore.

The city is however only the fifth worst UK location for crime – behind Bradford, Coventry, Birmingham and Manchester, according to Numbeo’s Crime Index.

The data, which is compiled from global survey responses and has been updated regularly since 2012, ranks London particularly badly for four categories out of 15.

These are the capital’s ‘level of crime’; ‘crime increasing in the past five years’; ‘problem people using or dealing drugs’; and ‘safety walking alone during night’.
