Is this Britain’s narrowest flat? Home so small you can touch both walls at the same time goes on sale

A HOUSE so narrow you can touch both walls at the same time has hit the market – would you make an offer?

The unique property dubbed Hallway Home, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, is on sale for £60,000.

Listed as a “factory conversion flat”, the tiny home consists of just a single room – akin to a long hallway – and a bathroom.

The current resident has managed to squeeze a single mattress on the floor, beside a small two-seater sofa.

Pictures show a laptop and keyboard set up by the bed, which presumably doubles as an office space and lounge.

Meanwhile kitchen appliances have been neatly arranged in a compact kitchen space.

It appears to come with a hob, oven, fridge, as well as several storage cupboards.

The bathroom is also tight on space, offering a boxy shower, sink and toilet.

Yopa Estate agents have advertised the miniscule property as “ideal for students”, or “a great opportunity for a first-time investors”.

But this has been met with some scathing comments and harsh criticism.

The description says: “Located on the ground floor with its secure entrance hallway; this stylish studio apartment features an open plan living/kitchen area and separate bathroom with a modern, fresh and tasteful feel..

“The fully fitted kitchen comes smartly equipped with gas hobs, an electric oven, a kettle and plenty of cupboard space.

“The living area is furnished with a compact table and chairs, storage unit, sofa-bed, TV stand, book-shelf and laminate throughout with the large double-glazed window allowing the whole apartment to be flooded with natural light while maintaining privacy.

“The contemporary bathroom features a tiled floor and walls, mirrored cabinet, a modern-style toilet and sink, and a powerful, direct-feed shower.”

However one potential buyer commented: “Ridiculous.”

Another slammed: “You can buy a two bed house for 100,000 in Sheffield.

“Invest better.”

“If I did buy, need the whole inside re-doing, small as f*ck,” agreed someone else.

Another person said “no way” while a fifth added “nice area, city centre, cheap”.

A Yopa spokesperson said: “Furniss Hill, is a studio ground floor apartment, nestled amongst the hustle and bustle of the Sheffield city Centre, so great access to the shops, offices, cafe, bars and entertainment.

“t’s actually is the smallest studio apartment I have ever had on the market in 28 years of being an agent, it may be small but has lots of charm and character: a grand total of 21 Square meters and if purchased at £59,000 it would generate a 11 percent gross yield as a buy to let as the property has the option to be sold with tenant in situ.

“So, a great opportunity for a first-time investor or another one to add to a portfolio for seasoned investors.”

This comes as after a seemingly normal looking terraced house sold last year holds a bizarre hidden secret.

The home in Rhyl, North Wales, which was bought for £170,000, is adorned with countless designs to bring out your inner child but appears completely standard from the outside.

Upon entering the three-bed semi-detached home, guests are immediately met with Disney-inspired designs on the walls and amongst the furnishings.

The property features a number of murals dedicated to Disney films, including beloved movies Aladdin, Snow White, and The Lion King.

Elsewhere, another eccentric home in Shropshire has hit the market for £124,000.

The home comes complete with an exposed toilet at the top of the stairs – leaving its users in full view of anyone nearby.

It’s a dream come true for prospective buyers seeking a live studio audience experience on the loo.

The first floor bog has no door or walls to mask the sights, sounds and smells that could occur when it’s occupied.

The person who chose to design their toilet in full view of anyone coming upstairs is unknown.

But the property, on Birch Road, Ellesmere, seems absolutely normal when spotted from the street.
