In one corner of the ring stands the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk. An urbane, globalist-minded, ardent European Union protagonist (equally loved by the Brussels Brahmins in return) who has been using hook or mostly crooked, plus all and more of his substantial powers as prime minister to shepherd Poland into the all-enveloping, smothering embrace of the EU.
The opposing corner has a nondescript, everyman-looking fellow in it, Karol Nawrocki. Who, through some miracle of deliverance, has managed to overcome the onslaught of Tusk’s formidable political and governmental powers arrayed against him to not only win election as Poland’s next president.
…In another staggering distortion, the [Rule of Law Report by the European Commission] report notes only in passing that Poland’s National Electoral Commission rejected the financial report of one party, resulting in the loss of public funding, without mentioning that the party in question is Law and Justice (PiS). This was a thinly veiled attempt at the de facto liquidation of the main opposition party, entirely contrary to the statutory law and the facts. The Supreme Court ruled this action illegal and ordered funding to be reinstated under the Electoral Code. Yet Prime Minister Tusk took to X to declare that “in his view,” the money would not be paid, and the Finance Minister followed suit, ignoring the Supreme Court ruling.
This was also a tactical move to clear the field for Tusk’s hand-picked presidential candidate, the globalist favourite Rafał Trzaskowski, to secure full control of power. Hence the intense pressure to win the presidential election, by unlawful means if necessary. But once again, the Polish people rose to the occasion. Tens of thousands of small donations financed Karol Nawrocki’s campaign, which succeeded against all odds — including a state apparatus, media complex, and left-liberal establishment aligned in full assault mode.
But fight off every effort post-election to deny him the office voters elected him to.
…Nawrocki defeated Rafał Trzaskowski, the candidate of Tusk’s Civic Coalition (KO) in a second round presidential run-off on June 1, by 51 per cent to 49 per cent on a 72 per cent turnout.
Some of Tusk’s supporters questioned the result, alleging irregularities in the counting of the votes as well as the legitimacy of the Supervisory Chamber of the Supreme Court that validated the result.
The leader of one of the coalition parties, Poland 2050, and Speaker of Parliament Szymon Hołownia refused to give in to pressure to postpone or cancel the inauguration. They held talks with the PiS opposition exploring opportunities for co-operation, thereby causing concern within Tusk’s coalition.
Hołownia’s stance on the election was vindicated when an investigation conducted by the Tusk government’s own prosecution service showed that the irregularities affected only a very small percentage of the electoral districts. They did not affect the overall result, which saw Nawrocki winning by 370,000 votes.
Despite that, his claims in the media that he had been pressured to effectively attempt a coup by refusing to accept the Supreme Court’s validation of the election led to more tension within the ruling coalition.
Not a single European Union official came to the ceremony welcoming Nawrocki as the incoming Polish president. Not a one.
Sure, haven’t seen anything like this before, right?
Right.
Keen observers will note that the previous PiS government, which was falsely accused by the EU and its acolytes of authoritarianism and democratic backsliding, handed over power without protest in 2023, while the self-proclaimed “democratic camp” use lawfare to stymie voters.

The way the Polish government is set up, the office of the president is nowhere near as powerful as that of the prime minister. But a president does have the ability to exercise important safeguards for controlling what the PM and parliament do.
…A president in Poland does not have executive powers but he can block legislation via the use of a veto that can only be overturned by a super majority of 3/5 in parliament, which the present government does not have.
The head of state also has the power to make judicial appointments, is the head of the armed forces, must approve the hiring and firing of the nation’s ambassadors and also has the sole and absolute power of clemency.
Tusk’s coalition does not have and has not had the majority to override a presidential veto, and he has been using extra-legal measures to do so with the vetoes issued by the previous Polish president.
The victory of Karol Nawrocki in the presidential election and his assumption of office due on August 6 constitutes a direct challenge to the mandate of Tusk’s left-liberal coalition to govern. Between 2015 and 2023, Law and Justice (PiS) secured a sustained democratic mandate from the Polish people to implement systemic reforms, winning every election during that period, including both parliamentary and presidential contests. In 2023, despite winning the largest share of votes, PiS was unable to form a government, and a coalition stretching from the Left to the centre was established under Donald Tusk’s leadership.
The fragility of this mandate stemmed from the necessity of co-governance with a president from the opposing political camp. The president holds the constitutional power to veto legislation, which can only be overridden by a three-fifths majority in the Sejm — a threshold Tusk does not command. According to the constitution, without the consent of a president elected by direct popular vote, a government cannot effectively govern; it may only administer. The only alternative is the path of constitutional breach — the very path Tusk has followed since December 2023.
He was able to do so because, despite lacking a mandate from the sovereign — the Polish people — he had the green light from the Biden administration and the European Commission to dismantle the sovereigntist camp in Poland. In Trump’s Washington, as is well known, Tusk would have no standing. But Brussels’ carte blanche for lawlessness in Poland is still fully operative.
In the face of Nawrocki’s election, Donald Trump’s triumph in November, and prior to the unsuccessful election challenges, Tusk was still talking tough, as if nothing was going to change about how he ran roughshod over the Polish constitution under the indulgent and protective EU umbrella.
Tusk would be saving Polish democracy from the nationalist Nawrocki.
…“I want everyone to see, including our opponents, at home and abroad, that we are ready for this situation, that we understand the gravity of the moment, but that we do not intend to take a single step back,” said Tusk.
He also announced that if Karol Nawrocki vetoes his bills, he will still “rule.”
But Tusk’s election challenges did fail, and yesterday, Karol Nawrocki, college professor and amateur regional boxing champion, was inaugurated as President of Poland.

And then the new president came out of his side of the ring into the middle of the arena. Nawrocki boldly laid the challenge down to the prime minister and all the EU minions working the towels in Tusk’s corner.
COME AT ME, BRO
President Nawrocki’s vision for Poland is clear: a nation secure, sovereign, and rooted in its values. His stance on illegal migration and deportation centres prioritizes safety over political correctness, aligning with the will of the Polish people. Strong alliances with NATO…

…Strong alliances with NATO and the U.S. ensure our security against threats like Russia. His leadership is a beacon of national pride and resilience
Nawrocki has been in a ring before.
Addressing their parliament, he told Tusk and his operatives their time was done. We will be POLISH, he promised, before we are anything else.
…Nawrocki strode confidently to the rostrum in parliament, smiled at the government benches and said that his victory was “a blow against government propaganda”. He warned the administration “that you cannot continue like this”.
“People have the right to have election promises made to them delivered on.”
He was referring to the fact that the Tusk government has failed to deliver promises to cut income tax and provide subsidised mortgages.
Nawrocki said there would be no surprises in his approach to office.
“I will do what I promised. I will work against migration, for the maintenance of our currency and for major infrastructural projects such as the construction of the central airport.”
The new President planned to submit legislation cutting tax and for the expansion of the central airport project in the coming days.
He was clear with regard to his stance on international affair.
“I will be the voice of those who want sovereignty, Poland in the EU but not its vassal. I will also be the voice of our army and the modernisation it needs. I will support our alliance with the US and our leading role on the NATO eastern flank,” he said.
He was adamant he would be an example of national tradition.
“I will be the voice for our traditions and our history, our literature and the maintenance of the patriotic traditions in our schools.”
Poland elects nationalist ex-boxer Karol Nawrocki as President, dealing a major blow to Donald Tusk’s pro-EU government.
With veto power and Trump-style views on borders, Nawrocki could block EU migrant policies for years.

I can just imagine Tusk dancing from foot to foot, smacking his gloves together in frustration and asking his trainers, “What’s our next move?’

Cruel eyes will have to do in the meantime.
Nawrocki will have to watch his back when Tusk finally skulks out of his corner to fight.
You know he won’t be coming alone.
