Fact check: True. Also, fact check: Obvious. It’s so obvious that Donald Trump sees the opportunity in yet another progressive rush to the wrong side of an 80/20 cultural issue.
It took Trump a few days to catch up to the Sydney Sweeney cultural conflict, but in fairness, he’s been a bit busy lately. Now that he has his attention on this matter, Trump took to Truth Social to endorse beauty, truth, and jeans, while castigating Jaguar and Bud Lite — and Taylor Swift?
Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the “HOTTEST” ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are “flying off the shelves.” Go get ‘em Sydney! On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER! The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad. Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST. Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT. The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
This message apparently got prompted by this tarmac question from a reporter on the White House detail yesterday. Before boarding Air Force One, someone asked the president if he knew that Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican. Trump had fun with that factoid:

Did Trump care about this before hearing that question? He was probably happy to see the Left land on the side that opposes natural beauty, capitalism, and sex appeal, but otherwise, he had bigger fish to fry. Given a chance to promote Republicans, however, Trump gleefully jumped at the chance to troll the Left, especially those in the progressive elite hyperventilating about “eugenics” over a jeans ad. Hence, his reaction of “now I love her ad.”
Trump’s having fun while the progressive elites fulminate in their outrage. It’s no more serious than that. To the extent woke gets dismantled in a cultural context, the better it suits Trump, and offering a few quips in that direction is only meant to keep his opponents sputtering rebuttals that speak more loudly to their own cultural isolation than his trolling.
The Protection Racket Media helpfully amplified his trolling today, with the predictable market result:
American Eagle Outfitters Inc. shares surged after US President Donald Trump came out in support of a controversial ad from the company.
The spot, with the actress Sydney Sweeney, is the “HOTTEST ad out there,” Trump said in a social media post. He added American Eagle Jeans are “flying of off the shelves.” Trump deleted an earlier post, in which he misspelled the actress’ first name.
The stock jumped as much as 16%, the biggest gain intraday since May 12. Through last week’s close, the shares had declined 36% this year.
What does that tell us?
- A: Sex sells
- B: There’s no such thing as bad publicity
- C: Anti-woke appeals to consumers
- D: Did I mention sex sells?
- E: All of the above, but especially A and D
This, more than anything Trump posts on Truth Social, provides clear evidence that “woke is for losers.” The American public has a great thirst for a return to normalcy and a revulsion at the extremist campaign by the Queer Movement over the last decade to dismantle it. Investors certainly recognize that, even if corporate leaders may struggle to keep up with their consumers — as Jaguar failed to do with its weird ad campaign this past year. No one thinks a beautiful woman talking about “great jeans/genes” is a Nazi dog whistle except the panicked Queer activists who realize that their grip on culture and corporate America has finally loosened.
It also helps that the reaction to a jeans ad has been profoundly stupid. That’s why Trump wants to have fun at poking the outrage, because it practically guarantees that the stupidity will continue.
