David Beckham beamed in snaps with his mum Sandra and sister Joanne as they enjoyed a surprisingly low key meal to celebrate his knighthood on Monday.
The former footballer, 50, declared himself ‘immensely proud’ on Friday as he finally received the honour after years of being snubbed.
And the star confessed it was an emotional reunion with his mum following the achievement and she couldn’t stop crying throughout the day.
Taking to his Instagram, David posed for a sweet selfie with his mum and sister as he swapped out his usual Michelin star cuisine for a humble budget pie and mash.
The group were seen digging into the Cockney classic at Tony’s Traditional Pie & Eel House in Essex.
He captioned the post: ‘Lunch with Mum , haven’t seen her since the news.

‘Mum cried when she arrived, cried during lunch and cried when I was leaving x special moment for us all ❤️ love you mum x @sandra_beckham49 ( Dads next) @tedbeckhamdavid @tonyspieandmash’.
Sir David said he ‘never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour’ receiving his knighthood for his services to sport and to charity, as his Spice Girl wife Victoria also became Lady Beckham.
He said: ‘Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.
‘To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true.’
He said that, off the pitch, his charity work ‘gives me so much fulfilment’.
And added: ‘It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.’
He has been made a knight for his services to sport and to charity, having partnered with Unicef and campaigned with Malaria No More, a charity working to eradicate the disease.
And David has also launched a new ‘passion project’ business venture in a bid to add to his multi-million pound fortune.

Sir David Beckham has also launched a new ‘passion project’ business venture BEEUP in a bid to add to his multi-million pound fortune
In an exciting new move to add to his estimated £372million ($450m) net worth, David has launched BEEUP, a honey-powered snack for children, available in the US at Target.
The idea has long been in the running since David found a passion for beekeeping and making honey in lockdown – which his wife Victoria prefers to call ‘David’s Sticky Stuff’.
David said: ‘I’m so excited that @beeupsnacks is finally here. A real passion project for me and something I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while.
‘Since building my first hive in 2020 I’ve fallen in love with beekeeping and I’ve learnt so much about the health benefits of honey.
‘As a dad and as a former athlete I wanted to create something for kids to enjoy as part of an active lifestyle so we created BEEUP…..delicious, honey-based snacks.
‘Available now in the US at @target I can’t wait for you to try it’.
BEEUP’s new 10-pack of delicious fruit snacks will be available in three juicy flavors, including Very Berry, Tropical Mix, and Sour Watermelon for $4.99.
All BEEUP snacks harness honey’s superfood power to fuel kids and families to be their best through busy mornings, after-school sports, and everything in between.
