Moment two British tourists brawl in the street before they have to be pulled apart by locals in Turkish holiday resort

British holidaymakers made headlines in Turkey after dramatically fighting in the streets of Marmaris before terrified locals.

The two tourists, who were staying in the Turkish Riviera resort town, were filmed fighting outside a shop as a violent argument boiled over.

‘Jealousy’ was said to have caused the dispute between the pair, whose identities are unknown.

One of the Brits wanted to take her suitcase and leave as the other person tried to stop her.

The pair were seen strutting around outside a shop as bemused locals looked on.

Suddenly, the argument took a nasty turn and a woman was thrown to the ground and kicked.

Onlookers turned around, as if expecting somebody to step in.

The fallen tourist rise to their feet and shoved their friend back into the shop.

But moments later the pair re-emerged onto the street and tussled on the floor as locals anxiously stepped forward.

Suitcases were strewn across the pavement and the ‘street turned into a warzone’ as the pair exchanged blows in public, TGRT Haber assessed.

Horrified locals caught up in the fracas watched on and recorded before shopkeepers finally intervened and calmed the warring parties down.

Authorities said that order was ultimately restored and that there was no need to bring legal action after the tourists had calmed down.

In a Marmaris travel group, locals expressed their outrage at the scenes.

‘What an embarrassment!!’ one person wrote. ‘Why can’t people just be respectful?’

‘Absolutely disgusting behaviour!! They should be made to pay for the damage they’ve caused.’

‘English all the time,’ assessed another.

One user wrote that it was her friend’s shop that was affected.

‘They should be charged and made to pay for the damage done,’ she said.

‘Disgusting behaviour. Respect other people’s properties and countries.’

Last week, footage emerged of two British women brawling in the street at a popular Tenerife nightspot, sparking similar fury among locals.

Vdeo showed the pair violently tussling on the ground in Playa de Las Américas while leering yobs cheer them on.

At the start of the clip, one of the women appears to tackle the other, sending her crashing onto the tarmac.

The holidaymakers then exchange several punches before finally being pulled apart by bystanders.

The footage has highlighted mounting concerns over tourist behaviour in the south of Tenerife, Spain’s largest Canary Island.

A clip of the incident, which occurred last weekend, was shared on Instagram via the account @tenerifequejasvecinales, which frequently posts complaints and reports from local residents.

The video was taken opposite Las Verónicas, the main area for nightclubs in Playa de Las Américas.

It has continued to feed criticism on social media, with many flocking to the comments section to express their frustration over repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area.
