8 Police Cars Set on Fire in Brooklyn (in Solidarity with LA ‘Uprising’) – HotAir

Eight police vehicles were intentionally set on fire early Thursday morning in Brooklyn by two unidentified men.

Arsonists torched at least eight NYPD vehicles in a targeted attack in a Brooklyn parking lot early Thursday — with undetonated explosive devices also found after two masked suspects were seen running away, police and sources said.

Police and FDNY responded to a report of multiple vehicles ablaze at a lot in Bushwick at the intersection of Central and DeKalb avenues — just a block from the 83rd Precinct station house — around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Six marked vehicles and two unmarked vehicles were damaged, cops and sources said. No injuries were reported.

Here’s video from the scene.

It seems the attack was intended to be even larger. Police found undetonated firecrackers similar to M-80s in the wheel wells of some nearby cars (photo here).

The NYPD hasn’t identified anyone or given any hint about the motive. But we don’t have to guess because the people responsible have apparently taken responsibility on an anarchist blog and told us why they did it. They say it was motivated by “solidarity with the uprising” in Los Angeles as well as “solidarity with the Palestinian resistance.”

Multiple NYPD cars were set on fire in the early, early morning of Thursday June 12th. The cars were just waiting there, practically begging for a new makeover! Tips on replicating this can be found on most counterinfo sites or just common knowledge; this was way easy. And so fun. Apologies to the community for the smell and the noise. And fuck you and haha to that pig—yeah, you know who you are.

There are many reasons for doing this, but for the sake of time it can be boiled down to four: 1) Solidarity with the uprising happening in Los Angeles where community and rebels are fighting Amerikkkan pig forces. From one cop city to another, death to the pigs and the surveillance state. 2) Revenge for the NYPD’s continuous physical and sexual harassment/assault of protestors, particularly femmes (incidents include removing of hijabs, forced nudity, degrading remarks, and more). 3) Something to show that repression breeds resistance and 4) Demonstrating that solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, immigrants, Black people doesn’t mean pointless demos where everyone gets arrested, endless marches to nowhere, and vapid chants. Solidarity means ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!

Sincerely, the anarchists and the rats and the brats and the lawless.

This message of violence is being spread by a bunch of anarchist sites on X today. As you can see, their view of “solidarity” has no place for peaceful protest as described in the US Constitution. They mock the idea of “endless marches to nowhere, and vapid chants.” What they want is more attacks on police, more destruction and more violence.

The NY Post story includes a video interview with a person who was passing by the scene. Dylan (the only name given) endorsed the arson completely: “I think it’s awesome. I think it’s f***ing rad. Burn more police cars. Set more on fire. Do things that actually matter…not just standing in the street yelling ‘No, no, stop.'” Dylan added, “I hope every single car is burned down. I hope they take the whole precinct with it. I hope they could get all the cops too, unfortunately.”

Get all the cops? As in murder them all? I think that’s what Dylan means. What an absolute left-wing lunatic. I suspect Dylan has a bunch of like-minded friends who consider advocating for the mass murder of police officers normal. No wonder blue cities are a mess.
