WITH bills constantly rising, if you’re looking for more affordable ways to dry your clothes this winter, you’ve come to the right place.
Instead of splashing the cash using your tumble dryer to get your laundry dry, the Queen of Clean has shared the four space-saving hacks she swears by to ensure your wet washing is ready to be put away in no time, without costing you a fortune.
Not only did Lynsey Crombie, also known as the ‘Queen of Clean’ reveal the bath hack that works with towels as well as clothes, but she also highlighted a gadget that “really speeds up the drying process.”
Posting on social media, the best-selling author, columnist and regular on ITV’s This Morning, said: “The weather‘s definitely turned which means getting your laundry outside to dry isn’t always an option anymore – so I’ve put together some of my budget-friendly, indoor drying solutions that I think you’re going to love.”
Following this, Lynsey then confirmed that she bought all four of her handy gadgets from Amazon – the first being a three-armed hanging system.
Lynsey acknowledged that she normally uses this £22.99 gadget to store her ironing, but claimed it is “perfect for hanging freshly washed laundry too.”

She added: “Just make sure you pop a fan nearby to create a gentle breeze – it really speeds up the drying process and a bonus tip, place it somewhere sunny for even faster results.”
Secondly, the blonde beauty shared the over-the-door hanging system you won’t want to miss.
She continued: “Next up we have the over-the-door hanging system – it’s got four hooks and flat bars, making it such a clever space saver if you’re short on room.”
As well as this, the cleaning guru continued with a hack that’ll cost you just £9.99, as she explained: “Then there’s the over-the-radiator drying rack – ideal for smaller items and quick drying.”
Finally, Lynsey shared her last winter tip, which is her “favourite” – the over-the-bath drying rack.
The expert recognised that the handy £24.99 buy extends across your bath, so you can “use it for towels or laundry.”
Thrilled with the effective gadget, she beamed: “It’s sturdy, non-slip, holds a good amount and keeps everything neat and out of the way,” the expert concluded.
Lynsey’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @lynsey_queenofclean, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 38,100 views in just two days.
How to dry wet washing inside, in winter
Drying rack or airer
Load up your airer with wet washing and place near a heat source – like a radiator or direct sunlight – to help distribute air around your clothes.
Dehumidifier
Plug in a dehumidifier in a room with clothes hanging to dry quickly and prevent dampness and mould. Many now have a laundry setting.
Tumble dryer
A tumble dryer can heat moisture out of wet washing, saving time and can be used in any weather.
Heated airer
Many brands and shops now sell heated airers for as little as £30. The racks heat through electricity and can speed up drying time.
Open a window
Choose a spare room or unused room for keeping your washing and crack open a window, but close the door behind you.
Using curtain poles
Hang wet washing on radiators then hook them onto curtain poles with radiators below. The heat will rise and dry the items. Alternatively, if you have a shower curtain pole, hang your clothes in the bathroom with a window open.
Viewers were thankful for Lynsey’s helpful advice and many raced to the comments to express this.
One person said: “Thank you for the tips, they really help.”
Another added: “Great tips.”
At the same time, someone else wondered: “How does the fan help dry the clothes? Very confused…”
To this, Lynsey replied and simply penned: “Air.”
