EuroMillions winner Adrian Bayford is abandoning his large seven-bedroom country estate to move in with his mother.
The 54-year-old former postman, who scooped £148million on the lottery in 2012 with his then-wife Gillian, is now reportedly set to relocate from his luxury pad close to the border of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
Both him and his fiancée, Tracey Biles, plan to move in with his mother, 80, at a nearby four-bedroom cottage that he bought for her with his millions.
Speaking to The Sun, a friend said that the lottery winner was hoping to ‘downsize and have a simple life and go back to how things use to be before he was mega rich’.
Remarking that the Grade II-listed mansion, which he bought with Gillian and was also where he separate from his other fiancées, is now ‘full of bad memories’, the friend added: ‘He loves Tracey. He loves his mum so it makes sense for them to all move in together.’
The couple, who are set to get married this summer, had tried to sell the country pile for £12million in 2023 but were forced to take it off the market.
Then, just last month, the father-of-two withdrew his plans to build a children’s theme park on 20 acres of his sprawling country estate, with initial drawings showing a ‘leisure destination’ that included education facilities, a train ride, a renewable energy-themed play barn and maze.

The plans also featured pond dipping opportunities and water play, rest areas with green living roof spaces and a permanent maze using willow, bamboo, beach, hay and straw bales.
An education centre was also set built to teach children about sustainability through play with rope swings, a replica mini biomass boiler that children would fill up with foam to learn about the production of heat and an educational space with a number of classrooms.
Friends had said that the project was being led by Mr Bayford’s fiancée, telling the Sun that while he was ‘totally supportive’, it ‘is really Tracey’s baby’.
However, the plans were widely panned by critics – with the horrified parish council saying it would cause a risk of flooding, drive additional traffic to the area and cause a detrimental effect on the nearby walled garden.
The Urban Design consultation also objected, saying it disrupts the local rural character, calling the landscaping ‘excessively urban’.
They said: ‘The proposal lacks integration into what remains a site of rural character. Long views towards the development is of particular importance as well as the total composition needing to retain a high percentage of softness in the landscape between the various built-form elements.
‘Through car dependency and increased footfall associated with new retail uses the character shifts substantially away from a rural character’.

The couple went their separate ways just 15 months after their big win, blaming the stress of handling their newfound wealth for the end of their nine-year marriage

In December 2024, Mr Bayford popped the question to his ambulance worker fiancée, Tracey Biles (pictured)

In 2017 and 2018 , Mr Bayford attracted 2,000 revellers to his ‘mini Glastonbury’ festival held on his estate
The grounds of Mr Bayford’s luxurious home also contain a huge vineyard the size of six football pitches, with photos emerging in August 2024 that showed a 40,000 square-metre vineyard which had been planted on the estate.
The lottery winner appeared to have planted Meunier grape vines, one of the three main ingredients in the production of champagne, in the grounds, with hopes that it could result in a lucrative venture.
And, in yet another savvy decision to reap more cash, Mr Bayford had previously decided to rent out a private cottage on his private estate on Airbnb.
The three-bed farmhouse was just 240 feet from the millionaire’s mansion and listed for around £110 a night. Bayford’s earnings would reportedly earn him a similar figure to what he earns in interest from the £148million jackpot in just 13 minutes.
The Airbnb in Cambridgeshire was described by the host as ‘tastefully decorated’ with a modern kitchen/diner, cosy living room, downstairs WC, master bedroom, twin room, single room and a bathroom.
Guests were also able to enjoy a private garden with a patio and seating area.

The Cambridge Rock Festival was a four day festival where tickets would start at £129, increasing up to £139, £149 and £159. The event featured around 60 rock bands and saw music until 11pm each night.
However, in 2023, he was forced to cancel the event because the local council refused to provide him with a licence.

However, the fairytale dream was short-lived, with the couple going their separate ways just 15 months later, blaming the stress of handling their newfound wealth for the end of their nine-year marriage.
It came after Gillian was forced to deny she had an affair with the couple’s gardener, Chris Tovey.

In 2023 MailOnline reported how Mark Newman, 57, said he was left devastated when Mr Bayford’s new fiancée, Tracey, walked out on him to start a new life with the Euromillions winner (Pictured: Mr Bayford and Tracey)

Mr Bayford even moved his new in-laws onto the land of his multi-million abode and into a £1million cottage, The Sun reported
She later threw him out after he squandered millions of her fortune on cars, holidays, watches and five-star football trips.
Since his split with Gillian, Mr Bayford has had four engagements and been linked with numerous female partners, including bodyguard and driver Marta Jarosz, equestrian lover Sam Burbidge and Frankie & Benny’s waitress Lisa Kemp.
Then, in December 2024, Mr Bayford popped the question to his ambulance worker fiancee, Tracey Biles, 46.

The engagement came after MailOnline reported in 2023 how Mark Newman, 57, said he was left devastated when Mr Bayford’s new fiancee, Tracey, walked out on him to start a new life with the Euromillions winner.
He claimed that Tracey had initially told him that she was only in a professional relationship with Mr Bayford and living in a separate part of his £6.5m mansion on his 189 acre estate.
